Everett CC is getting a football team???  Some have heard that EvCC is getting a football team. In a way that is correct, however it has nothing to do with the Athletics Department. It is for EvCC students in a non-affiliated recreational football league.

The league – Northwest Community College Football League (NWCCFL) – currently has five teams involved with Everett CC being the sixth next season (2011-12). This league is unaffiliated with the community college’s they are named for and the NWAACC, which is the conference that EvCC and other CC’s in Washington, Oregon & Douglas from Canada are in.

Player qualifications
Players must be taking at least 12 credits at EvCC, maintain a 2.8 or higher GPA, have their diploma from high school or GED, and be 18-24 years of age, able to pay $300.00, and submit grade checks.

NWCCFL director of football operations is Brian Moylan and the EvCC Head Coach is Tim Dennis. The team will practice at Cedarcrest Middle School in Marysville, WA on Saturdays to prepare for the 2011-12 season.

The EvCC Clipper did an article on this team in it’s Dec. 3, 2010 issue.  For a more indepth look at the history of CC Football check out that issue!

Even though they are not affiliated with Trojan Athletics – we want to wish them the best of luck!
