Trojan Alumni Inderbir Gill named Player of the Year and MVP
Everett Community College Men’s Basketball alumni Inderbir Gill was named this year’s Player of the Year for the University of Northern British Columbia, the MVP of his league, MVP of the Provincial Tournament as well as the MVP of the 2010 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Men’s Basketball National Championship Tournament.
According to the University of Northern British Columbia, which is located in Prince George, British Columbia, in Canada, he was the second in the league in scoring and assists during the regular season. In the 2008-09 season, Inderbir was Team Captain, an All-Canadian, Team MVP, 1st team All-Star of Province, and 1st Team All-Star at Nationals. In the 2009-2010 season, along with the above allocates, he was Team Captain, 1st Team All-Star of Province, and an All-Canadian. His team recently won the BCCAA Provincial Basketball title and played for the National Title in Calgary, Albert, where they easily beat SAIT 96-63 and won UNBC’s first CCAA National Title!
Inderbir’s jersey (#12) and picture were recently placed on the University of Northern British Columbia’s Wall of Fame.
Inderbir, a 6’0 guard from University High School in Spokane, played basketball for Everett CC in 2005-06 and 2006-07. His freshman year, the team won the Abbotsford City Basketball Classic. He was Team Captain and MVP his sophomore year and lead the team in scoring, assists and rebounds. He won the Elsner Award in 2007, an annual award given to the EvCC Men’s Basketball player that best exemplifies the late Jim Elsner, assistant basketball coach at EvCC.
Inderbir graduated from Everett Community College with an associate degree in 2007.
