Yesterday at the field outside the EvCC Sports & Fitness Complex, the Trojan Softball Team split a league double header with the Dolphins of Shoreline CC.  This game was to be played on Tuesday 5/5 but due to the weather and field conditions it had to be postponed.  These were also the last home games of the 2009 season and quite possibly the last games ever to be played on this field – as EvCC is getting a new gym built and will be out of the current building in June.  It has yet to be determined where the Trojan softball team will play the 2010 season.  Because it was the last home game of the season, the Trojans had a bbq going for all of their family and friends.  Hot dogs, polish dogs, chips, cookies and WIRED products were offered free to everyone. With free food and a nice day it was a great day to come out and watch some softball.

With only 4 hits in the first game for the Trojans along with 2 errors, they lost 1-5 to the Dolphins. After the completion of the game and a little bit of work on the field (to get it ready for the second game) the team and coaches honored the 2 sophomores with a short presentation. Nena Slocum and Natalie Martinovic have played the past two seasons for the Trojans and have done a fantasitc job for the program.  All of their hard work and dedication will be greatly missed next season.

On the high of the sophomore celebration, the Trojans took it to the Dolphins in the second game, beating them 5-2.  The Trojans had 6 hits and 0 errors to the Dolphins 4 hits and 4 errors.  A great way to end the regular season – on a win! Nice job Ladies!!

We want to wish Nena and Natalie Good Luck in all they decide to do in the future and thank you for everything you have done for the program! You will be missed next season!
