Fall Sports have started
The 2008 Fall Sports seasons have started and so far the teams are off to a great start.
This past Friday evening the Trojan Volleyball Team hosted the Chokers from Grays Harbor College in a non-league match-up. The Trojans came out strong and took the match in 3 games with scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-23 putting their overall record at 1-0. Their next game is Wednesday 9/10 at Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, WA @ 7pm. Directions to GHC can be found under the directions link on the athletics main webpage.
The Trojan Women’s Soccer Team started their season taking a two game trip to Oregon. They first traveled to Eugene to play the Titans of Lane CC in a non-league match-up. It was a rough day as they lost 0-4. They then traveled a little further south to Coos Bay to play the Lakers of Southwestern Oregon CC, where they played competitive all game but at the end of it were behind 0-2. These two games brought them home with a 0-2 overall record. However, this past Friday evening 9/5, they traveled to Lynnwood (Meadowdale HS) to play Edmonds CC in their first league game of the 2008 season. It was a tough game but the Trojans came out on top 2-0. Then Saturday afternoon, they hosted the Thunderbirds of Highline CC. The two goals of the game were scored within the first two minutes of the game, one for each team thus ending the game in a tie 1-1. These games take the Trojans to 1-2-1 overall, and 1-0-1 overall.
The Trojan Men’s Soccer Team started their season when they traveled to Meadowdale HS in Lynnwood to play the Tritons of Edmonds CC on 9/5. It was close but in the end the Trojans pulled away and came home with a win 2-1. They then hosted Highline CC on Saturday afternoon. This game was a much tougher game and towards the end it looked like the Trojans were going to let the Thunderbirds get away with a 4-1 win. However in the final minutes of the game, the Trojans received a penalty kick that they made to put the score at 4-2 in favor of Highline. This made shot put a boost into the Trojans, but it was too late, time ran out before they could charge ahead and create more offense. This means that they are 1-1-0 overall & league.
The next games for Trojan Soccer happen this Tuesday 9/9 Home vs Bellevue CC, Thursday 9/11 vs Shoreline CC and Saturday 9/13 Women @ Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA & Men @ Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA. Game times on Tues & Thurs are women @ 2pm; men @ 4pm; Sat game times are women @ 12pm; men @ 2pm. Home games are played at Kasch Park in Everett. 8811 Airport Rd/Kasch Park Rd. Directions to LCC & PeC can be found under the directions link on the athletics webpage.
The Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Teams have had two meets to date. With 29 runners, I’m sure that we have done a great job at both meets. At this point no results have been turned in to elaborate on. When I get them, I will post them. The next meet is Friday 9/12 at the West OCast Preview in Portland, OR at 4pm.
