Softball attends the NWAACC Tournament
The 2007-08 Softball team took 3rd place in the Northern Region thus advancing them to the NWAACC Championship Tournament. The double elimination tournament was held at Delta Park in Portland, OR, May 16th - 18th.
The team left Everett on Thursday for Portland with high hopes of bringing home the championship title. Unfortunately those hopes were dashed on Friday morning, May 16th when they played South Puget Sound CC at 9am. The Clippers won the game 9-0, sending the Trojans into the Loser’s Bracket. The next game was a must win for the Trojans if they wanted to stay in Portland an keep playing towards the title. They were matched against the Blue Mountain CC Timberwolves with the game time of 1:30pm on Friday afternoon. In the second game they battled with the Timberwolves but alas it wasn’t meant to be becuase at the end of the game the score was 8-5 in favor of Blue Mountain CC. This second loss ended the 2007-08 season for the Trojans. They finished with a league record of 22-14 and an overall record of 26-24.
Congratulations girls and coaches on a wonderful season. To the sophomores, we wish you the best of luck as you move onto other avenues. To the freshmen, we can’t wait for next season and another run at the Championship Title!
