She was also named Northern Region MVP and particpated in the All-Star Event. She has signed to play with the Cascade College Thunderbirds in Portland, OR next season. Congratulations Shoe and Best of Luck next year at Cascade!!!
The Male Athlete of the Year was Chris Grounds from the Men’s Basketball Team, who also took 8th place at the NWAACC Championship Tournament. Chris is an alumni of Kamiak High School that has already earned a degree in Communications from Washington State University. He came to EvCC explicitly to play basketball. Knowing he had to take at least 12 credits to play his dream sport, he decided to focus on acting. Chris was named to the Northern Region 1st Team, was #1 in all of NWAACC in Steals, #2 Assists, #10 in Scoring and #9 in Shooting. On the Trojans team he lead the team in Assists (195) and Steals (92) and was #2 in Total Points (509) and Point Average (15.9 pts a game). Chris is a freshman in terms of basketball eligibility and will be back for the 2008-09 season as a Trojan. We look for Chris to do more great things next season and make a return trip to NWAACC’s. Congratulations Chris…. we can’t wait to see what you do next season!!!
