Trojan Baseball lose semi-final
This afternoon, the Trojan baseball team played the Wenatchee Valley College Knights in the semi-final game of the double elimination EvCC Spring 2008 Tournament. The Trojans were ahead going into the 7th 3-2, when the Knights scored to tie it up. It stayed that way until the bottom of the 9th, when the Knights scored on a sacrifice fly to Right Field to win the game 4-3. This loss sent the Trojans into the Losing Bracket where they will meet Edmonds CC in a must win situation.
The Edmonds CC Tritons played three games today, winning all three to stay alive in the Losing Bracket. They beat Douglas College at 9am 17-6; then had a re-match with Tacoma CC, who sent EdCC to the Losing bracket their first game of the tournament, which they won 4-3; and in the last game of the night they beat Malaspina, whom Everett had sent to the losing bracket their first game of the tournament, 7-1.
EvCC and EdCC play each other 4 times in league play each year. This non-league match-up at 10am will determine who will meet Wenatchee Valley College in the Championship Game on Sunday March 23rd at 1pm at Everett Memorial Stadium. To win the Championship, Wenatchee Valley must win one game or their opponent must win twice.
