Men’s Soccer advance to 2nd Round of Playoffs
The Men’s Soccer team hosted the Lakers from Southwestern Oregon CC today at 1pm in the 1st round of the NWAACC Soccer Championships. After regulation time ran out, the score was tied 1-1 which meant that it would go into OT.
OT in soccer means that we pick 5 players to shoot at their goalie 1-on-1 and they do the same at our goalie. It goes back and forth between the two teams and the team with the most/higher amount of goals after the 10 shots is declared the winner.
Due to Everett scoring 4 shots in OT to SWOCC’s 1, neither team had their 5th player shoot, because there was no way for SWOOCC to catch up/tie or win the game at that point.
With this win, the Trojans will now travel to Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA on Saturday to play the Pirates in the 2nd Round of the NWAACC Soccer Championships. The winner of that game will continue onto the Semi-Finals that will be held Nov. 17 & possibly the Championship Games on Nov. 18th. Both of those games will be held at Starfire Field Complex in Tukwila, WA.
Good Luck Trojans!!!
