Getting off of the bus in Yakima, WA the Trojans walked onto the field for their first games of the 2007 season. It didn’t take long for the Trojans to take charge of the game, starting in the second inning with 4 runs. Donny Treatled off the 2nd inning with a walk and later would score on the RBI single by Jeff Mugge which was then followed by an RBI double by Daniel Ulrich. Mugge and Ulrich would both score on a single by Alex O’Brien. This
would prove to be enough runs as EvCC starter Ryan Woods kept Yakima Valley CC hitters at bay for the majority of the game. Woods, pitching for the first time in a Trojan uniform since 2005, was almost perfect. He only allowed one earned run in 6.0 innings of work and struck out 12 (eight of the last nine hitters he faced). Relief pitcher Brandon Iverson replaced Woods in the 7th inning. After allowing 2 runs in the 8th, one was earned, Iverson would settle down and pick up the save working the final three innings.
