In the Men’s game, it was a must win situation for the Trojans to keep their hopes alive to attend the NWAACC Tournament. They were tied for 4th place going into the game with Skagit Valley College and Olympic College with a league record of 7-8. With it all on the line, the Trojans went out and played with heart and determination, taking a 1 point lead into half time, 29-28. In the second half, the Trojans made 60.7% of their shots to out score the Orcas 51-46 and take the win 80-74. Now it was wait and see to what happened with Skagit and Olympic. Within about 20 minutes or so after the game ended we got word that Skagit was beating Shoreline in the final seconds of the game. With that result it was known that we would have to travel to Skagit on Monday for a playoff game. Now we had to wait to find out how Olympic did against the #1 team Bellevue. If OC won, there would be a playoff game on Tuesday at OC against the winner of the Monday night game, with the winner going to the Tournament. We got word that Bellevue beat OC 91-50. That put OC out of the running for 4th place and now it was just between Everett and Skagit.
