Women Hoops tied again for 1st
Last night can only be described as EXCITING! The Storm from North Seattle CC traveled to EvCC to play the Trojans in league play.
The Women started off the night coming off of a tough loss to Skagit Valley College on Saturday night. They were playing one man down since starting guard, Kristina Schumacher, is still out due to torn ligaments in her ankle that was sustained during the game at Olympic College on Feb. 14th. Luckily the other player that was hurt during the Olympic game, Oliana Seanoa was able to play even though she is playing with a broken nose. As with the rest of the season, the game went back and forth with EvCC getting ahead and then letting the Storm catch back up only to go ahead once again. At half time the Trojans were ahead 35-30. The second half was no different with it being close until the 13 minute mark. That was when the Trojans took over at 2 points creating a gap of 15 points between them and the Storm. At the end of the game, the Trojans won by 10, 72-62. On a side note, this was the same score from the previous meeting of these two teams in Jan. 2007, when the Trojans traveled to North Seattle CC. This win creates a tie with Bellevue CC for 1st place in the Northern Region with a 12-2 record. The Trojans overall record is 22-4.
