Monday night in a make-up game versus Shoreline CC, the Trojan Men’s Basketball Team lost by 2 points to take them to 4-4 in league (still in 4th place in Northern Region) and 9-9 overall.

It was a crazy game/night to say the least. The Dolphins came into the game 2-5 in league yet watching their warm-up and dunk session it was kind of interesting that they had only won 2 games.  They could all basically dunk yet why were they 2-5??? Is it because they can’t/don’t play defense??? Could it be that they are a team of showoffs that don’t like share the ball or the glory??? Could it be that they don’t play like a team??? Well we found out why…. they really don’t get a long all that well! Considering that with 6:04 left on the clock in the first half, Shoreline called a time out.  It was at the end of this time out that one of Shoreline’s players took a swing at one of his own teammates, and connected with that shot.  It was the only swing that was taken and they were separated by other players and coaches. The player that took the swing, was taken out of the gym where he proceeded to change out of his uniform and leave.  The other player sat on the bench trying to calm down and eventually went back into the game.  After the “fight” a technical was called on the player that took the swing and Everett shot 2 Free Throws and got possession of the ball.  Now you would think that this would be the end of the drama for the game right??? Wrong!!  Going into half time, the Dolphins were up by 3, 44-41.  With about 6:30 left on the clock of half time, the Dolphins came out to warm-up. It was during this time that another one of their players had an issue that he felt he needed to settle with his fists.  He took a swing at either one of the assistant coaches or another player. The head coach told him to sit down on the bench, but he chose to get his stuff and leave.  He went out and changed into his street clothes and hung out in the hall for the remainder of the game.

Now that the drama is taken care of… let me tell you about the game…. As stated at half time the Trojans were down 3.  In the second half they would go down as far as 9 before they would come back at tie it up.  For the rest of the game, it went back and forth with 11 lead changes and 8 ties.  Ultimately it came down the the final minutes of the game once again… unfortunately the Trojans weren’t on the winning side of it… Losing by 2 at the buzzer, 89-91.
