Men get 2nd league win… in a row!
This past Saturday evening, the Trojans traveled to North Seattle CC to play the NSCC Storm in league competition.
Following a great win by the Trojan Women’s Team the Trojan Men went looking to win two in a row in league play. The game started with a jump ball, and Everett’s Chris Gill winning it. However, NSCC forced a quick jump ball and gained possession of the ball 5 seconds into the game. They scored on that possession. We go down and score a field goal to tie it up. On NSCC’s next possession they score a 3 pointer to go up 5-2, however, not to be out down, the Trojans go down and tie it up with their own 3 pointer. The Storm then attempt another 3 pointer and miss with Everett getting the rebound and go down to score an easy lay-up to go ahead by two, 7-5. From this point on The Trojans take complete control of the game, never letting the Storm tie it up or even lead again. At one point in the first half being ahead by 14 and going into half time up by 7, 48-41. During the second half, the Storm try to get things going their way by attempting many shots, however regardless of what they tried, the Trojans didn’t let them into the game, at one point having a 23 point lead, 73-50. Slowly the Storm fought their way back getting as close as within 5 points, 83-78. However that would be the closest they got to the Trojans in the final minutes of the game. The Trojans won by 14, 98-84. This takes their overall record to 7-8 and league record to 2-3.
